JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. – A teen accused of shooting a 14-year-old boy inside the victim’s Jefferson County home Friday night has been charged with first-degree assault.
Deputies say the 15-year-old boy ran from the scene shortly after allegedly shooting his friend, but was found nearby. The victim remains hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
Jefferson County Sheriff investigators have not said what led up to the shooting. Authorities had still not recovered a weapon Friday night.
The shooting happened in a neighborhood near West Bowles Avenue and South Simms Street in unincorporated Jefferson County.
The shooting remains under investigation.
