JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. — A teacher for Dakota Ridge High School in Jefferson County is under fire and now apologizing for tossing a chair in anger in a classroom full of students.
Jefferson County officials confirmed the teacher has been placed on unpaid leave, calling the event uncharacteristic for the teacher.
"This sort of behavior by a teacher is unacceptable ... Dakota Ridge values respect and ethical behavior and this incident is not the type of environment we want for our students," a letter penned to parents read.
School officials called the tossing of the chair in anger alarming, but said no students were injured.
Students posted the video on various social media platforms, including on Snapchat.
The teacher apologized to students on Friday.
