DENVER – Construction on downtown Denver’s new Target store is right on track for the store to open this summer.

The company said its store on the 16th Street Mall is scheduled to hold its grand opening on Sunday July 22. A spokesperson said employees are “excitedly working hard” putting the finishing touches on the store.

The 28,000 square-foot Target store will be located on the southeast corner of 16th and California and occupy the second and third floors of the building that currently houses an Einstein Bros. Bagels and Great Clips.

The city of Denver approved a $4 million incentive package for the retailer last year.
