Tanker truck filled with crude oil overturns near Brighton

BRIGHTON, Colo. – A tanker truck filled with crude oil overturned on Riverdale Road near Brighton Thursday.

The tank has been compromised and leaking oil into a canal that runs along Riverdale Road.

A hazmat crew from the Brighton Fire Department placed bags in the canal to help contain the oil. More than 100 gallons has already spilled.

No injuries were reported. It’s still not known how the truck overturned.
