DENVER -- A wanted suspect was injured during a shootout with Commerce City police in Denver early Tuesday morning.
Denver Police say the suspect was shot in the leg and suffered non-life threatening injuries. He was transported to University Hospital. No officers were harmed.
The shooting happened in the 4700 block of East 47th Avenue Drive in Denver after Commerce City officers attempted to contact the unidentified suspect wanted on a felony warrant, police said.
Police say the incident began at a Romantix location at 4810 Pontiac Street in Commerce City. The suspect then fled to Hensley Battery, an electrical supply store, where officers shot the suspect.

Northglenn police confirmed to Denver7 that a woman taken into custody in a pickup truck near 120th and I-25 shortly before 10 a.m. was taken into custody in relation to the officer-involved shooting.
The suspect's name has not been released. No other details were immediately available.
