DENVER – Officers arrested a 34-year-old man in Castle Rock in connection to a murder at a Lakewood motel earlier this week, Lakewood police announced Thursday.
The homicide happened not long before 2:45 a.m. Tuesday at the Blue Sky Motel on W. Colfax Ave. Responding Lakewood officers found a man with several gunshot wounds, who later died. The victim has been identified as Geronimo Alvarado, 29.
Lakewood police said Thursday that the suspect in the deadly shooting, identified as 34-year-old Julian Joel Rivera, was arrested in Castle Rock on Tuesday evening.
Rivera is being held on suspicion of first-degree murder charges at the Jefferson County jail.
