DENVER, Colo. -- It was a close call for one woman in northeast Denver Wednesday.

Denver police say someone shot and injured a man in her neighborhood near Maxwell Place and Atchison Street in Montbello.

Jessica Lockner said a stray bullet from the shooting flew right through her window, just missing her by six inches.

“I’m 3/4 of the way deaf,” Lockner said, “so I didn’t hear anything, but the next thing I knew, I turned my head a little bit saw a spark of light.

"I immediately got down on the floor told my kids to crawl to the basement,” she said.

Fortunately, no one inside her home was hurt.

“I know it was something random,” she said, “but it’s still it is a shocker.”

Police say the man who was shot was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition.

They are looking for any witnesses who may be able to provide more information, including a description of the suspect and possible motive for the shooting.
