Add Steamboat to the ski areas that will be served by the “Snowstang” bus service, which the Colorado Department of Transportation will begin this winter.

CDOT announced in July that Loveland and Arapahoe Basin had committed to the new service, which requires subsidies from the areas to cover 60 percent of the costs, with the remainder coming from fares. The City of Steamboat Springs has since committed to the program.

Roundtrip fares for Loveland and Arapahoe Basin will be $25 for adults, with discounts for seniors and children. The Steamboat fare will be $40. While Loveland and Arapahoe Basin are relatively close to Denver, Steamboat is 145 miles from the metro area.

There will be 40 days of service to each resort, running weekends from Dec. 14 through April 19, plus the Martin Luther King holiday (Jan. 20) and Presidents’ Day (Feb. 17).
