AURORA, Colo. — Police in Aurora are investigating what they are calling a homicide after a body was found near a light rail station during Wednesday’s “bomb cyclone” blizzard.
Police say the body, whose name, age or gender has not been released, was discovered around 1:55 p.m. Wednesday by people looking for a runaway dog near the Fitzsimons Light Rail Station. The body was located just east of the station's parking lot.
The body was not removed until Thursday afternoon due to the extreme weather conditions from the day before, according to a release from the Aurora Police Department.
It’s not clear when the death occurred or how long the body was at the location it was found.
The cause of death has not been determined. The victim’s identity will released by the Adams County Coroner’s Office.
