COSTILLA COUNTY, Colo. – A unique piece of property that includes one of Colorado’s famous 14’ers has been sold.
Cielo Vista Ranch spans 83,000 acres and includes 14,053-foot-tall Culebra Peak and 18 other mountains over 13,000 feet. It’s the largest ranch sale of the year so far, according to Mirr Ranch Group, which listed the property.
The name of the buyer and the purchase price have not been disclosed, but the property was listed for $105 million. Broker Jeff Hubbard said the new owner is committed to taking good care of the land.
“The profile of the buyer is absolutely ideal,” Hubbard said. “He is one who is a true conservationist and is deeply committed to preserving this national treasure and extraordinary resource. He truly appreciates and embraces the responsibility of ensuring this property remains a reflection of our state’s beautiful landscapes, diverse wildlife and heritage for decades to come.”
