HIGH COUNTRY, Colo. – Skiing and snowboarding season might get started a little early in Colorado’s High Country this season.
Several resorts have already started making snow, and a blast of cold air and some natural flurries helped both Loveland and Copper Mountain start making snow Monday night.
Loveland kicked off snowmaking Monday night on the Catwalk and Mambo runs, and an inch of the real stuff helped the area produce into Tuesday afternoon.

The Oct. 3 snowmaking date bests last year’s Oct. 16 date for Loveland. The ski area opened Oct. 29 last year.
Copper Mountain also started making snow Monday night. It is scheduled to open Friday, Nov. 11.
Arapahoe Basin started testing its snow guns Sept. 20 and was making snow by Sept. 28.
Ski and snowboarding season is just around the corner!
