LONE TREE, Colo. — A plane crashed in a field in Lone Tree Friday morning.

South Metro Fire Rescue said firefighters have arrived on the scene, which was just south of Lincoln Avenue and east of I-25. The plane had a hard landing in the field, just south of Centennial Airport. The Lone Tree Police Chief Kirk D. Wilson said the plane had some sort of engine failure.

He said this crash could have been much worse because there are office buildings and a busy road nearby.

Two people were able to exit the plane safely. They were not injured, according to South Metro Fire Rescue.
