BOULDER COUNTY, Colo. — A Buckley Air Force Base airman died shortly after rescue crews reached his body at the Eldora Mountain Resort Tuesday afternoon.
Officials say the man, who will remain unidentified until next of kin can be notified, died after he crashed into a tree on a ski run. The victim was wearing a helmet at the time of his death on the Muleshoe ski run.
Ski patrollers, Boulder County Sheriff's department members, along with several other agencies, worked to respond and evacuate the injured man. Just before an ambulance arrived to the scene, the victim was pronounced as dead.
The airman was assigned to the 566th Intelligence Squadron
