Footprints in snow lead to robbery suspects

Posted

Sheridan Police say they arrested three suspects in an aggravated street robbery after following their footprints in the snow early Sunday.

The two victims said they met the woman through a social media site and met her in person in an alley near the area of South Clay Street and West Jewell Avenue just after 2 a.m., according to police. The victims said the woman asked them to follow her and they were confronted by two men armed with a handgun and a large stick.

The victims told police the woman stood by while the two men robbed them and ran away. Officers followed footprints in the snow to an apartment in the same area. Five people were found in the apartment and police said three of them were identified by the victims as suspects in the street robbery.

Matthew Gene Mondragon, 35, Subhi Joseph Badan-Miera, 18, and Selena Marie Chavarria, 18, are being held for investigation of aggravated robbery and harassment. Police have not released their arrest photos, pending further investigation.
