DENVER — Temperatures in Denver have gone from nearly 100 degrees in two consecutive days to a drop of more than 10 degrees in just a day. That's a sign that a cold front is coming through, and storms are following.
The threat of severe weather developed in the Denver metro area Thursday afternoon, but Mother Nature failed to deliver much of a punch.
The entire front range was in the area of risk with the I-25 corridor serving as the dividing line between serious storms and diminishing storms. The forecast called for the potential of damaging hail, which could have proved costly.
In the wake of the front, conditions will be cooler on Friday - a nice break from the heat. We'll see a few showers and storms through early Friday and that could lead to a wet morning commute.
