GEORGETOWN, Colo. – A semi-truck fire shut down Interstate 70 in both directions in Georgetown on Saturday, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.

The wreck happened about 2 p.m. in the eastbound lanes at Exit 228 and the smoke from the fire was crossing into the westbound lanes, forcing officials to shut down both directions. The westbound lanes re-opened about 2:30 p.m. but long delays should be expected along the highway on Saturday afternoon.

Georgetown is about 45 miles west of Denver.
