Westbound I-70 reopens hours after semi fire

DENVER – The westbound lanes of Interstate 70 are back open, hours after firefighters responded to a semi fire near the Purina plant.

The truck caught fire around 6 a.m. near York Street and officials quickly closed all westbound lanes to traffic.

Police said there were no reports of injuries.

As of 10 a.m., the left lane of the freeway was open to traffic and by 11:30 a.m., all traffic lanes were open.

It wasn’t clear what caused the fire.
