Simulator donated for school security training

Posted
Jeffco Public Schools has received a generous donation that will provide a different method of security training for school officials and local law enforcement.

The $42,000 simulator donated by Ti Training, based in Golden, allows users to interactively train for different school threat scenarios.

It will be housed at a former Jeffco Public Schools elementary school that is now used for school security training, according to a press release by the school district.

The news coincides with the anniversary of the tragic Columbine High School massacre on April 20, 1999.

“This week marks 17 years since our community was stricken by the Columbine tragedy,” said Jeffco Public Schools Executive Director of Security & Emergency Management John McDonald. “That this generous donation, which will greatly enhance our security training, happened this week reminds us just how important it is to continue working on school safety and security.”

Ti Training produces industry leading hardware and software solutions for law enforcement and public safety professionals.
