DENVER — The southbound lanes of Colorado Boulevard are closed at E. Louisiana Avenue for a water main break.
The pavement is raised in the area and there is a large crack in the roadway in front of the Wahoo Taco’s Restaurant at 1233 S. Colorado Boulevard.
Denver Water said they have crews at the site. Jose Salas with Denver Water said they can tell there is a 12-inch line. The water has been shut off.
Southbound Colorado Boulevard is closed from E. Mississippi Avenue to E. Louisiana Avenue.
As of 9 a.m., 13 commercial customers were without water, according to Denver Water. Among those businesses are Starbucks, Wahoos Fish Tacos, Taco Bell and Old Chicago Pizza.
Denver Water said late Thursday morning that crews had isolated the main and were digging out the pipe. It said that road closures should be expected "all day" and people should avoid the area and heed traffic cones and barriers.
Main break update: crews have isolated the main and are now working on accessing the 12" pipe.
