EAGLE COUNTY, Colo. — The Eagle River’s water levels dropped Tuesday for the first time in a week as investigators and search crews continued to look for 3-year-old Sebastian Rodriguez Castro.

The young boy went missing June 5 from his home off Nogal Road in Eagle. He has autism and is non-verbal.

According to the Eagle County Public Information Officers Group, crews will continue to monitor the river’s conditions for opportunities to search some of the areas that were previously deemed unsafe. River levels had been rising last week through the weekend due to warm temperatures and increased runoff. The water levels dropped on Tuesday.

Investigators are continuing to follow up on any and all leads.

A GoFundMe has been created for the family to give them financial help during this time. The GoFundMe was created Tuesday afternoon and had raised about $4,700 as of 8:45 a.m. Wednesday.

Search and rescue crews have found few signs of the young boy. On June 6, the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office said an article of clothing was found in the river and was positively identified as belonging to Castro. The phone the boy had been carrying when he went missing was found in the river by the apartment where he lived.

Anyone with information about Castro’s location is asked to call the non-emergency number for Vail Public Safety Communications Center at 970-479-2200.
