GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo. – A teacher at Campus Middle School is on leave while the school district investigates reports that a student’s mouth was taped shut in class.
Cherry Creek School District officials said the student’s mouth was taped shut during class on Wednesday, April 26, though officials just learned of the incident Monday.
Officials said they notified Greenwood Village police and the student’s parents as soon as they learned of the incident.
It wasn’t clear if the teacher was accused of taping the student’s mouth, or if the teacher allowed other students to do so, and district officials said they received conflicting reports.
The district placed the teacher on administrative leave while it investigates what happened.
