Want free public transit for a month? It's yours if you're willing to leave your car at home.
RTD, Lyft and Zipcar announced a new partnership Wednesday with a goal of reducing congestion on major roads by encouraging residents to use alternative transportation to get around.
"The less cars out on the roads every day, the better," said RTD Chief Safety Officer Mike Meader.
The agencies will choose 50 commuters who pledge to give up their cars for a month to take part in the experiment from Oct.8-Nov. 6. Each commuter will get $300 in Lyft share-ride credits, $150 in Lyft Scooter credit, a free one-month RTD regional pass and a free one-month Zipcar regional pass.
Commuters can sign up for the challenge anytime until Sept. 30 at www.DitchWithLyft.com/denver.
