ROXBOROUGH, Colo. — If you enjoy working with children and Colorado’s outdoors (and wouldn’t mind a free state parks pass), a volunteer program at Roxborough State Park may pique your interest.
The park is looking for volunteer naturalists.
These volunteers will receive a comprehensive four-week training course and, after 48 hours of service in a calendar year, a state parks annual pass.
Anybody over the age of 18 is welcome to attend a prospective volunteer open house to learn more about the opportunity.
Park staff is particularly interested in volunteers who are available Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays to work with school, scout and public groups.
This is the last opportunity to become a volunteer naturalist until 2021.
Anybody who is interested can attend the open house at the park on Feb. 21 from 10-11:30 a.m. Official training will begin in April.
For more information and registration details, call the park at 303-973-3959.
