People living near Rangeview High School in Aurora received an emergency call early Saturday warning them to stay inside their homes.
"Officers were on a call for service when they heard shots coming from an unknown person in the area," said Officer Crystal McCoy with the Aurora Police Department.
"A reverse 911 was sent as a safety precaution," McCoy said.
The call was sent out around 2 a.m. and it warned of an "incident" and to stay away from doors and windows, according to a Denver7 viewer.
Officers did not find anything or anyone, according to McCoy.
A few officers were seen searching a field near the school after sunrise.
