Police are investigating a deadly officer-involved shooting at the Motel 6 on Wadsworth Boulevard near 6th Avenue.
Lakewood Police confirmed that a man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers were investigating a suspicious vehicle in the motel parking lot prior to the shooting, police said.
As the suspect tried to approach the vehicle, police chased him on foot and then man pulled a gun. That's when officers shot him.
"Incident happened on the east side of the motel," Denver7 Liz Gelardi tweeted at about 10:10 p.m. "Police also tell us the special enforcement team was involved."
Three officers were involved but none of them were hurt, police confirmed.
