Report: Denver rents continued to rise in February

DENVER – The cost of renting in Denver continued to rise last month.

That’s according to the latest monthly report from ApartmentList, an online rental listing site.

By analyzing its rental listings, ApartmentList found rents increased 0.9 percent in February to a median of $1,380 for a 1-bedroom unit and $1,750 for a 2-bedroom. That’s an increase of 1.3 percent compared to Feb. 2016.

With a median 2-bedroom rent of $2,300, the Highland area is the most expensive neighborhood in Denver, ApartmentList found, followed by Five Points and Hampden South.

Here are the ten most expensive neighborhoods in the city, according to ApartmentList (median 2-bedroom rent in parentheses):

3. Hampden South ($1,780)
4. Speer ($1,700)
5. Capitol Hill ($1,600)
6. Lowry Field ($1,580)
7. Windsor ($1,500)
8. Montbello ($1,470)

10. Hampden ($1,340)

It’s important to note that these numbers are produced by ApartmentList using listings on their own website. They don’t take into account rentals listed on other sites or using other services.
