DENVER – Coloradans are among the happiest people in the United States.
At least, those are the findingsin a new report from financial news website 24/7 Wall St. It lists Colorado as the fifth “happiest” state in the country.
The website based its rankings on a wide range of factors that tend to be correlated with overall well-being, such as income, poverty rates, obesity and teen pregnancy rates, access to healthy food, crime rates and college attainment rates.
Colorado got high marks for low obesity and heart disease rates and high rates of exercise and healthy eating, earning it the number five spot on the list of “happiest” states.
The two westernmost states in the country took the top spots on the list, with Hawaii ranking at number one and Alaska following at number two.
