REDSTONE, Colo. -- A 1897 Colorado castle that has hosted a Rockefeller and a Roosevelt is scheduled for auction on Friday.
Redstone Castle, also known as Cleveholm Manor, was originally built in 1897 for John Cleveland Osgood.
In 1900, Osgood was the 6th wealthiest man in America. He made his money in coal and steel.
Platinum Luxury Auctions says the mansion has 24 bedrooms and 16 baths. The main residence is 23,000-square-feet and comes with a 4,792-square-foot carriage house.
The English Tudor-style home was built with large stone blocks hand-cut and quarried from the sandstone cliffs just across the Crystal River.
The castle's website says Louis Comfort Tiffany designed the fixture work including three giant brass globes carved with lion’s faces, pineapples and angels that light up the English Great Hall.
"Distinguished guests such as Teddy Roosevelt, J.P. Morgan and Prince Leopold dined here on wild game with the finest silver and china on the table," the castle's website says.
