DENVER – If you’re looking for Denver’s hottest neighborhoods, you should focus your search outside of the city limits, according to real estate brokerage website Redfin.

A new report from the company aims to predict which neighborhoods will be the most in-demand in 2017 and several suburbs came out on top.

The Greenfield area of Centennial takes the title of “hottest” Denver metro neighborhood, coming in at number nine nationwide.

Old Town Arvada and Athmar Park came in at number two and three, respectively.

Redfin used information from its own real estate listings to come up with the “hottest” neighborhoods, looking at things like the number of views on a particular page and which properties people added to their “favorites.”

Many of the cities on the list are suburbs or smaller cities. Redfin says that while these areas might have longer commutes than central neighborhoods, they offer a lot in the way of amenities.

“Greenfield has a community pool, a playground, tennis courts, a fishing pond and many trails for people wanting the outdoor, active Colorado lifestyle,” said Redfin real estate agent Stephanie Collins. “Located in the highly rated Cherry Creek School district, it’s a prime location–just five minutes away from the Southlands Mall District, with its retailers, movie theater and many restaurant options.”

The Bushrod area of Oakland, Calif. has the bragging rights of “hottest” neighborhood in the entire U.S., according to Redfin.
