DENVER – A proposed renovation project of the space under the iconic white tented rooftop at Denver International Airport dominated the discussion during a Denver City Council meeting Monday night.
The late-night meeting has yet to yield a decision on the 15,000-page, $1.8 billion development agreement that would revamp the 1.5 million square foot Great Hall in the Jeppesen Terminal.
The proposed changes will include moving TSA security checkpoints, consolidating ticket counters and a redesign of the shopping and dining experience.
Airport officials say the project would improve the flow and function of an increasingly cramped terminal. However, airline officials are concerned about the proposed placement of security checkpoints.
The meeting is expected to go past midnight.
