CLEAR CREEK COUNTY, Colo. - A recent high school graduate from Greenwood Village died Thursday in a climbing accident near Clear Creek Canyon, authorities said.

Lauren Guthrie, 18, reportedly fell while rappelling, according to the Clear Creek County Sheriff's Office. Deputies responded shortly before 1 p.m. to a call of an injured climber, just west of tunnel 5 and north of Clear Creek.

Several other climbers in the area reported the accident. Undersheriff Bruce Snelling said Guthrie had just graduated from high school.
