Pueblo Police: Man who calls himself ‘Crazy Wolf' growls, howls at officers

PUEBLO, Colo. – An armed man who calls himself “Crazy Wolf” lived up to his name during an arrest, Pueblo Police said.

Officers were dispatched to a Pueblo McDonald’s Thursday morning in regards to a man causing a disturbance. The man took off before police arrived but was quickly located a short distance away.

When officers tried to arrest him, police say he resisted and began growling and howling. He was eventually tased and placed into custody. Police say they found a handgun in his front pocket.

The man told officers his name was “Crazy Wolf” but was later identified as Ruben Gamez, 44. 

He was transported to the Pueblo County Detention Center where he was booked on charges of possession of a weapon by a previous offender, felony menacing, attempted second-degree assault, and resisting arrest.
