PUEBLO, Colo. – Law enforcement officers put their lives on the line every day, but they don’t always get the recognition or respect from the public they serve. Someone in Pueblo wants to change that.

Pueblo Police took to their Facebook pageTuesday to express gratitude to the kind stranger who has been leaving notes of encouragement on patrol cars.

The text in the note appears to be from a 2014 blog post titled “Dear Officer, I See You,” which chronicles the many sacrifices that officers make while protecting the public.

“I see you walking to your next traffic stop while you hope that it isn’t your last,” the letter reads. “I see you as you direct traffic in the scorching heat, the gusting snow and the downpour of rain.”

Pueblo Police wrote that the gesture has reaffirmed to the officers who received the letter the reasons why they chose a career in law enforcement.
