Potential glass in apple sauce leads to Trader Joe's recall

DENVER — The chance for glass in three varieties of Trader Joe's brand apple sauce led the company to issue a recall notice. 

All three varieties were sold in Colorado stores and were produced originally by Manzana Products Co., which also issued a recall. 

Each of the apple sauce containers is 24 ounces in size with best by dates through 2018. The brands recalled are identified as:

• Trader Joe's All Natural Unsweetened Apple Sauce — Best by codes through Dec. 16, 2018.
• Trader Joe's Organic Unsweetened Apple Sauce — Best by codes through Oct. 6, 2018.
• Trader Joe's First Crush Unsweetened Gravenstein Apple Sauce — Best by codes through Aug. 8, 2018.

Customers who purchased one of these products are asked to return the products to Trader Joe's for a full refund, or dispose of them. 

Trader Joe's said in a release that the products are no longer available for purchase.
