PARKER, Colo. -- A man charged with protecting students at a Douglas County High School was arrested Monday for allegedly sexually assaulting one of those students.
Gary Postell, 49, is a campus security specialist at Ponderosa High School in Parker. He was arrested at his home in Castle Rock for sex assault on a child, according to a Douglas County press release.
Detectives interviewed the Ponderosa High School student Monday and determined that there was enough probable cause to make an arrest. Not that many details surrounding the case have been released.
The Douglas County School District said they are taking the accusations seriously but are unable to comment specifically on the case.
A letter to Ponderosa High School parents was sent Tuesday. The letter reassures parents that Postell will not be allowed back on campus "pending the results of the investigation."
Postell was booked into the Douglas County Jail on a $5,000 bond. He has since bonded out.
