Police: Woman with cognitive impairment located after going missing from Denver area

UPDATE | 9:04 a.m. — Rutha Handy has been found and is safe, according to the Denver Police Department.

DENVER — The Denver Police Department is searching for a woman who went missing on Tuesday from the area of E. 55th Avenue and Malaya Street.

Police said Rutha Handy was last known to be in a black Honda Accord with Colorado plate 660WUR heading to University Hospital. She was seen wearing a black coat, blue jeans, a burgundy and blue striped shirt, and gray shoes.

The vehicle was last spotted traveling westbound on E. Colfax Avenue at Havana Street around 7:50 p.m. on Tuesday.

She has a cognitive impairment, police said.
