GOLDEN, Colo. – Police are warning Golden residents that a black bear is on the loose and looking for food.
The adult black bear was spotted getting into trash cans over the weekend in the Heritage Dells neighborhood, Golden police said.
Officers posted photos of the bear on the department’s Facebook page Monday morning.
Police say the best way to keep your neighborhood safe is to keep trash cans inside until pickup day. If you can’t put your trash inside, make sure the container is secure so that bears and other animals can’t get into it.
