Several other Family Dollar stores have been robbed in Commerce City, Aurora, Denver, and Lakewood. Police said the robbers have also targeted gas stations and an auto parts store.
On Saturday, crooks hit a Thornton Family Dollar store around 10 a.m. An hour later thieves also wearing bandanas, and looking for cash - robbed a Denver store off Federal.
Denver Police said they now believe the same group of suspects are responsible for the most recent robbery.
Thornton Police said there is a high probability its robbery is linked to the others, but they are still investigating to make sure.
"Based upon the circumstances and based upon similarities, I think there's a possibility that they are linked," said Sgt. Matt Cabot with the Thornton Police Department.
Lakewood police told Denver7 the crooks normally show up around closing time.
Over the weekend, the suspect hit the two stores in Denver and Thornton shortly after they opened but police think they know why.
"The day after Christmas, maybe they thought they were laden with cash and they hadn't done cash drops or something like that," said Sgt. Cabot.
Family Dollar and Metro Denver Crimestoppers are both offering a cash reward for information leading to an arrest.
