Police: Suspect in custody near E. Colfax in Denver

DENVER – Police have taken a suspect into custody after blocking off a section of a residential neighborhood in Denver Tuesday.

Police initially said they had a perimeter set up in the 1600 block of Locust Street, about a block north of East Colfax.

Officers said they were “working to contact [a] possibly armed person.”

As of about 12:30 p.m., police said they had taken the suspect into custody. Officers planned to remain on the scene as they were still working an active investigation, police said.
