LAKEWOOD, Colo. — One person was shot multiple times outside a Lakewood Walmart, and police said they believe the shooting stemmed from an argument over a parking spot.

Around 9:30 p.m. Sunday, agents with the Lakewood Police Department responded to the Walmart at Wadsworth Boulevard after receiving a report of shots fired.

When they arrived, they found one male in the parking lot with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a hospital for his injuries. Police said he is expected to survive.

The preliminary investigation found that this was likely an isolated incident that was a result of an argument over a parking space. Two suspects left the scene in a vehicle, police said.

There was no suspect information available as of Monday morning. On Monday afternoon, police said they believed the suspect's vehicle was either a silver or white late-'90s SUV.

Lakewood police said they don't believe there is a danger to the public.
