Police: Shooting in Greeley leaves 1 dead, another seriously injured

GREELEY, Colo. – A man is dead and another is fighting for his life following a shooting in Greeley late Friday afternoon.

Officers responded to the 700 block of 12th St. at around 5:15 p.m. on reports of a shots fired call, and upon arriving at the scene found two men who had been shot.

One of the men was declared dead at the scene. The other was taken to a local hospital and was undergoing surgery as of 9:15 p.m.

Their identities were not immediately released.

Police said they’re not sure what led to the shooting, “but it appears that the shooting occurred after a disturbance.”

Police do not also know if the men knew each other prior to the shooting.

Detectives were still interviewing witnesses late into the night and said the investigation is active and ongoing. No arrests have been made.
