Police shoot, kill armed suspect after crash in Loveland

LOVELAND, Colo. – A man has died after being shot by officers in Loveland late Thursday.

Police said they were investigating an attempted traffic stop and crash in the 700 block of North Namaqua Drive around 10 p.m. when a male suspect fired a gun.

Several officers shot the suspect, who was later pronounced dead at the hospital. There were no other injuries associated with the shooting.

Police have not released the identities of any of the officers involved.

Officials will release the suspect’s identity once next of kin have been notified of his death.

North Namaqua Drive was expected to be closed between East First Avenue and West Eisenhower Boulevard for several hours due to the investigation.
