DENVER – A 68-year-old man died after a crash involving two pickup trucks Sunday evening in Aurora.

Aurora police said the crash happened shortly after 5 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of East 18th Avenue and Chambers Road.

Police said the initial investigation shows the 68-year-old man, who was driving a Ford Ranger pickup, was turning left onto southbound Chambers Rd. from westbound E. 18th Ave. when his vehicle was hit by a person driving a Dodge truck. Neither driver had passengers in the vehicle, police said Sunday.

The 68-year-old man, who has yet to be publicly identified by the Adams County Coroner’s Office, has taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died.

Aurora police said that speed is possibly a factor in the crash and that the investigation was ongoing Monday morning. Anyone who saw the crash or has dashboard camera video of it is asked to call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
