LAKEWOOD, Colo. — The Lakewood Police Department said human remains were unearthed near Kendrick Lakes Elementary School on Thursday morning.
Lakewood police were called to a construction site on the southwest side of the school, which is located at 1350 S. Hoyt Street, around 10:40 a.m. Thursday. Construction crews working at the site had come across bones and called 91, police said.
When police arrived, they determined the bones were human and appeared to have been at the site for a significant amount of time, according to the police department.
The remains were collected for testing to determine exactly how old they are.
