COMMERCE CITY, Colo. – Police officers fatally shot a man who allegedly threatened the officers with a gun early Monday.
Commerce City police responded to a home in the 5800 block of Magnolia Street around 10 p.m. Sunday on a report of a man with a gun who had threatened a woman.
When they arrived at the home, officers spotted the suspect in the doorway with a handgun, police said.
Officers called in the Special Services Unit and a crisis negotiator made several attempts to get the suspect to put down the gun and surrender.
Shortly after midnight, the suspect threatened the officers, according to police. The officers fired at the suspect, hitting him. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
