In an effort to improve relations, police departments and their communities will gather for annual National Night Out events across the country Tuesday. And Denver is no different.
The city is hosting 10 events to promote police-community partnerships and neighborhood comradery. The events also offer an opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.
In Denver, the goal of the annual National Night Out events is to heighten crime-prevention awareness, build support and participation in local anti-crime strategies and to strengthen communities by encouraging neighborhoods to engage in stronger relationships with each other and law enforcement partners, according to the city.
Mayor Michael Hancock, Executive Director of Public Safety Troy Riggs, Chief of Police Paul Pazen, Fire Chief Eric Tade, Sheriff Patrick Firman and other public safety personnel will visit the various event sites.
Residents outside of the city of Denver can call their local police departments for information on their National Night Out events.
