MESA COUNTY, Colo. – Authorities are warning area businesses and people that counterfeit bills are going around and being used.

The Fruita Police Department says multiple businesses have filed reports in recent days saying counterfeit $20 and $5 bills were being used.

The department says all the fake $20s have a serial number of JH33423025B, making them easier to spot.

Anyone who finds a counterfeit bill is asked to report them to local law enforcement.
