Planning, patience needed for spring gardens

Mother’s Day in Colorado is typically the time you want to wait until to plant annuals in your flower gardens.

But there are hardy flowers that can stand up to Colorado’s sometimes unpredictable spring snows and freezing temperatures.

Brien Darby is a horticulturist at the Denver Botanic Gardens.  In the video above, you can see her show Denver7’s Dayle Cedars the types of plants you can plant earlier this spring and what you can do to get the soil in the rest of your garden ready for more color later in May.
