CENTENNIAL, Colo. – A plane filled with more than 100 dogs touched down at Centennial Airport Tuesday night.
The animals were airlifted from storm-ravaged Puerto Rico to Colorado in hopes of finding them new homes.
Seven Colorado shelters, including the Denver Dumb Friends League, accepted the homeless animals.
The animals will receive health and behavior assessments, be spayed or neutered and be given age-appropriate vaccinations before becoming available for adoption.
Most of the dogs and puppies should be available for adoption within three to four days of arriving.
