DENVER – Rockies pitcher Jon Gray is feeling a little lighter after having eight inches of his hair cut off Tuesday morning. And it’s all for a good cause.
Gray is donating the hair to Locks of Love, which provides wigs for children with hair loss resulting from a medical condition like alopecia or cancer treatment.
Gray said he’d been growing his hair out since spring training of 2015, with a handful of trims since then.
“My head feels a lot lighter,” Gray said after the hair came off. “It feels like there’s nothing up there right now.”
